Mangwana appointed Information Perm Sec

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has appointed Zanu PF apologist Nick Mangwana as the new Information,Publicity and Broadcasting permanent secretary.

Mangwana – the young brother to Paul Mangwana the Zanu PF legal secretary – was based in the United Kingdom before his latest appointment.

He was the Zanu PF UK branch chairman.

He takes over from George Charamba who was elevated to deputy chief secretary in charge of presidential communications.

Charamba was one of the longest serving permanent secretaries and doubled up as the presidential spokesperson.

Misheck Sibanda, chief secretary to the president, announced the appointment, Monday.

“His Excellency the President has, in terms of Section 205(1) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe Amendment (No. 20) Act 2013, appointed Mr. Ndavaningi (Nick) Mangwana as Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services,” said Sibanda.

According to Sibanda, Mangwana has qualifications in Corporate Governance, Accounting, Law and Health Studies.
