Parly full of murderers, claims Mliswa

The Parliament of Zimbabwe is full of alleged murderers, rapists and thieves who are there to be protected, outspoken legislator Temba Mliswa has claimed.

The Norton Member of Parliament Temba Mliswa made the claims in a wide-ranging interview with CITE where he also opened up about his tiff with Chegutu West Member of Parliament Dexter Nduna.

The two had a serious altercation in parliament where Nduna threatened to kill the controversial politician.

“Is Parliament now become a warehouse where people with crimes come and hide behind so that they can be protected? Sometimes you ask yourself if you are at the right place,” said Mliswa.

In 2012, Mliswa who was then Zanu PF Mashonaland West provincial chairman was accused of demanding US$165 million as “consultancy” fees from businessman Muller Conrad “Billy” Rautenbach.

Recently, there were media reports claiming Mliswa and four other members of the Mines and Energy Portfolio Committee demanded $400 000 bribe from James Ross Goddard of JRG Contracting. The money was apparently a “facilitation fee” to enable the JRG Contracting to secure a mining contract at Hwange.

On his altercation with Nduna, Mliswa alleged Nduna was a murderer who had a lot of blood in his hands.

“He (Nduna) is known for gun-toting in Chegutu and the battlefield issue of gold. He is implicated in all this because people died in all this”.

He said Nduna personally confessed to being a murderer.

“Spiritually when someone kills, one day they will subconsciously say it. I am an African and human. When you kill somebody and blood is split, it will haunt you. When you see people in the streets talking to themselves, it’s the blood they split.

“You can get a good lawyer and get away with the murder but you cannot get away with your conscience because it will always remind you that you killed someone.”

He said Nduna was also a thief because he stole a television set.

“I said he was a thief it was in the background that he had stolen a tv. I am not lying. Go and find out airforce why he left.”

“What about the Zimbabwe National Road Administration (ZINARA) money, he was given R13 million and USD8 million but he did not do anything,”

During the 2008 and 2013 general elections, Nduna led one of the most violent election campaigns in Chegutu, he was also accused of using violence as a campaign tactic.

He was also arrested during the party primary elections after firing shots at his opponent and supporters last year.
