ZETDC fined US$200 for culpable homicide

The Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC) has been ordered to pay a fine after a man was electrocuted by exposed electricity cables at a farm paddock.

The incident which claimed the life of Havatendi Kangetsambo (52) happened on March 3, 2022.

In a statement, the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) stated that ZETDC was taken to court on culpable homicide charges.

“The Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC) was arraigned before the Murambinda Magistrates Court on culpable homicide charges. ZETDC was ordered to pay a fine of US$200,”said NPAZ.
