Human remains found at illegal dumpsite

Bulawayo police are seeking assistance from the public in identifying two human legs discovered at an illegal dumpsite in Pumula South.

The legs were found concealed in a grey sack under a small bushy tree near Good Hope Secondary School.

Bulawayo police acting spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Nomalanga Msebele, confirmed the incident, which occurred on October 8th, 2023, around 4 pm.

“The legs appear to belong to an adult with an estimated shoe size of six or seven. They were found in an advanced state of decomposition,” she said.

Assistant Inspector Msebele further stated that anyone with a missing relative who matches the above description can contact ZRP Homicide on (0292) 603266, the investigating officer on 0775 503 357, or visit any nearest police station to assist with identification.

Separately, police are also appealing for information to help identify an unknown female person, approximately 22 years old, who was fatally struck by an unknown motor vehicle along Plumtree Road on November 3rd, 2023, at around 10 pm.

“She was wearing a black and gold nightdress and yellow sandals,” Assistant Inspector Msebele described.
